In 2014, VOIQ had just graduated from the TechStars accelerator, and their first milestone was to get to product-market fit. Ricardo brought Brian and Dana on as advisors because of their background building sales organizations and data-intensive startups, experience that was highly relevant for the type of business that VOIQ was becoming at the time. FT continued to provide CTO guidance and advisory services during their next two major milestones - participating in YCombinator, and making a strategic pivot toward virtualization of on-demand sales teams.

FT worked with VOIQ in a leadership and advisory capacity, primarily helping Ricardo navigate through key points of evolution in the business. When their internal engineering team began to struggle and Ricardo was having difficulty understanding where the issues were, we got more involved, instilling processes and practices for their 10+ person development team and conducting a “Field Study” to evaluate where the operational issues were in their product development process. When the team was ready to promote one of their engineers to the role of CTO, Dana provided significant mentoring and coaching, helping to ensure a smooth transition.
